CDI Lier 2020 program announced

The fourth edition of CDI Lier is just around the corner. From February 26 to March 1, the top of the dressage can be found in Belgian Lier to participate in this highly appreciated competition. Partly due to the fine accommodation and the sporty atmosphere, CDI Lier is not only loved by Belgian dressage riders, but also by riders from neighboring countries.

High level
What CDI Lier makes, according to the participants, a nice event to compete is the fact that different classes are offered. Participants can register with the Children, Ponies, Juniors, Young Riders, U25 and the 4 * Small and Big Tour. Great prizes can be won at all categories where cash prizes can be as high as € 9,000 with a total prize pool of € 40,000.

Inviting program
In addition to the inviting program for the participants, CDI Lier is also particularly attractive for visitors to come and watch. There are several stands from Kingsley Saddles, Rosa Collection, Semper Fi, Jolly Lodger and Lydia DeHertoge where various equestrian items are offered. On February 29 Tineke Bartels gives a clinic where dressage enthusiasts can indulge themselves.

Big international names on starting order CDI Lier

That the popularity of CDI Lier is increasing is evident from the number of participants from not only Belgium, but also surrounding countries. For example, 18 different nationalities appear in the ring this year. But not only is the organization of CDI Lier proud of this, they also think it is great that more and more famous riders and riders are coming to the Azelhof.

Strong field of participants
During CDI Lier, both participants and visitors are guaranteed of the best of high level dressage. The participants travel all over the world to participate in this competition. That this is an Olympic year can be seen by the big names on the list of participants for the CDI4 * heavy tour. Many countries keep their selections and have CDI4 * Lier in their agenda. For example, on the starting list of the CDI4 * teams from Great Britain, France and Japan, Adelinde Cornelissen, Diederik van Silfhout and Marlies van Baalen are on the list for the Netherlands.

Belgium well represented
The fact that CDI Lier is a home game for Belgian participants makes it even more attractive for them to compete here. With 17 Belgian participants in the CDI4 * Small and Big Tour sections, Belgium is again well represented this edition. Well-known names on the starting list include Charlotte Defalque, Rob van Puijenbroek, Domien Michiels and Jorinde Verwimp who are back at Grand Prix level after a game break.
