Febe van Zwambagt wins Young Riders competition

Febe van Zwambagt drove her FS Las Vegas (by Lord Loxley) to victory in the Young Riders test this afternoon. With the son of Lord Loxley she managed to score a score of 71.961%. The jury was particularly impressed by the troth and so she ended almost unanimously in the first place.

Also Kimberly Pap scored with Vloet Victory (s Jazz) a nice score of 71.814% with which the combination was put in second place. They remained Thalia Rockx with Gerda Nova (by Romanov), who finished in third place with a score of 70.147%. The other top five consisted of a fourth place for Fabienne Jongen and Botticelli, followed by a fifth place of the German Sophie Reef with Rue Noblesse.

Febe van Zwambagt wint Young Riders rubriek

Febe van Zwambagt reed vanmiddag haar FS Las Vegas (v. Lord Loxley) naar winst rijdt in de rubriek voor de Young Riders. Met de zoon van Lord Loxley wist ze een mooie score neer te zetten van 71.961%. De jury was met name onder de indruk van het drafwerk v en zo eindigde de amazone bijna unaniem op de eerste plaats.

Ook Kimberly Pap weet met Vloet Victory (v Jazz) een mooie score neer te zetten van 71.814% waarmee de combinatie op een tweede plaats eindigde. Ze bleven Thalia Rockx voor met Gerda Nova (v. Romanov) die hier op de derde plaats eindigde met een  score van 70.147%.

De overige top vijf bestond nog uit een vierde plaats voor Fabienne Jongen en Botticelli, gevolgd door een vijfde plaats van de Duitse Sophie Reef met Rue Noblesse.

Lara Van Nek strikes again

For the second day in a row, Lara Van Nek convinced the jury of her abilities. The Dutch Children rider unanimously rode her Fariska to victory. Van Nek and Fariska showed better canter work and worked out the different exercises nicely. With a total score of 75.513% the combination stayed well ahead of Lisa Steisslinger.

The German followed second place in the saddle of Caddylack. The combination improved through the test and finally received a total score of 72.308%. She stayed ahead of home rider, Alexander Goovaerts with his horse Habiba vh Bloemenhof. The Belgian finished third with a score of 68.590%. The combination showed restlessness in the resting part and was punished accordingly, which resulted in third place.

Lara Van Nek wint opnieuw

Voor de tweede dag op rij heeft Lara Van Nek de jury overtuigen van haar kunnen. De Nederlandse Children amazone reed haar Fariska unaniem naar de overwinning. Van Nek en Fariska lieten het betere galopwerk zien en werkten de verschillende oefeningen keurig af. Met een totaalscore van 75,513% bleef de combinatie ruim voor op Lisa Steisslinger.

De Duitse volgde op de tweede plaats in het zadel van Caddylack. De combinatie verbeterde door de proef heen en ontving uiteindelijk een totaalscore van 72,308%. Hierdoor bleef ze voor op thuis-ruiter, Alexander Goovaerts met zijn paard Habiba vh Bloemenhof.

De Belg eindigde derde met een score van 68,590%. De combinatie toonde onrustig aan in het rust gedeelte en werd daarop afgestraft, wat resulteerde in de derde plaats.

Katelijne Maes wint Ruitersport Lydia DeHertoge prijs

Gisteren nog werd Katelijne Maes derde tijdens de junioren rubriek, vanochtend ging de Belgische er met de overwinning vandoor in de ochtendrubriek. Met haar paard Ibou van de Kapelhoef bleef Maes als enige boven de 70% in de totaal score.

De combinatie wist zowel Jeanette Wolfs als Jo Graham te overtuigen met een vrij stabiele proef met voornamelijk zevens. Met een score van 69,902% volgde Lucie-Anouk Baumguertel met Zinq Sweetheart FH op een nette tweede plaats. Door Belgisch jurylid Freddy Leyman werd Baumguertel zelf op één geplaatst. De halve volte over de middenlijn naar de halve volte links liep even minder waarop de combinatie werd afgestraft.

Semmieke has to end her participation at CDI Lier due to fire at Gestüt Erlenhof

Siemmeke had to stop her participation at CDI Lier prematurely because early morning fire broke out at Gestüt Erlenhof, the Rothenberger family’s stable. During the fire, several horses fled into the forest. An as yet unknown number of horses died in the fire. Sanneke ran smoke poisoning and is currently in the hospital.

According to a spokesman for the police this morning the fire broke out at 6.15 am, the fire had started in the indoor arean. Several horses have died in the flames. Two people who have tried to save the horses have suffered symptoms of poisoning. The extinguishing works will continue throughout the day.

The large indoor arena has completely burned down, the fire has spread to the stable building next to the arena. Horses who have fled into the forest have been caught again. The damage is huge!

Family Rothenberger has responded to their website: “We drove home straight from Lier. It is certain that we have lost a large part of our life’s work: our riding hall, our stable, a number of young horses and pensionary. Sönke and Sanneke were alerted to the fire when the dog barked. Sönke was able to accommodate Cosmo in the Krause family’s stable and also saved Goldi. Several horses have been injured. Sanneke is in the hospital with a smoke poisoning.

The organization of CDI4* Lier wishes the Rothenberger family a lot of strength with this great tragedy.

Semmieke moet deelname CDI Lier staken vanwege brand op Gestüt Erlenhof

Siemmeke heeft haar deelname aan CDI Lier vroegtijdig moeten staken omdat er vanochtend vroeg brand is uitgebroken op Gestüt Erlenhof, de stal van de familie Rothenberger. Tijdens de brand zijn er verschillende paarden het bos in gevlucht. Een nog onbekend aantal paarden is omgekomen bij de brand. Sanneke liep rookvergiftiging en ligt momenteel in het ziekenhuis.

Volgens een woordvoerder van de politie brak vanmorgen om 6.15 uur de brand uit, het vuur was in de rijhal ontstaan. Verschillende paarden zijn in de vlammen gestorven. Twee mensen die geprobeerd hebben de paarden te redden, hebben vergiftigingsverschijnselen opgelopen. De bluswerkzaamheden zullen nog de hele dag duren.

De grote overdekte hal is volledig afgebrand, het vuur heeft zich verspreid zich naar het naastgelegen stalgebouw. Paarden die het bos ingevlucht zijn, zijn inmiddels weer gevangen. De schade is enorm!

Familie Rothenberger heeft het volgende gereageerd op hun website: “We zijn direct uit Lier naar huis gereden. Het staat vast dat we een groot deel van ons levenswerk zijn verloren: onze rijhal, onze stal, een aantal jonge paarden en pensionaris. Sonke en Sanneke zijn op de brand opmerkzaam gemaakt toen de hond aansloeg. Sönke kon Cosmo in de stal van de familie Krause onderbrengen en ook Goldi redden. Verschillende paarden zijn gewond geraakt. Sanneke ligt met een rookvergiftiging in het ziekenhuis, maar het gaat naar omstandigheden goed met haar.”

De organisatie van CDI4* Lier wenst de familie Rothenberger heel veel sterkte met deze grote tragedie.

Hafuba Young riders prix for Semmieke Rothenberger

In the last competition of today Semmieke Rothenberger kept the competition behind her. The Belgian jury Jacques van Daele and Franse Isabelle Judet put the German rider in the first place. Rothenberger left the Dutch Thalia Rockx behind her.

Rothenberger started impressing and continued this for the entire test. The shoulder-in was very powerful, overall a very strong performance which was rewarded with a score of 73,333%. With a big difference Rockx became second with with Gerda Nova. The combination lost some points in the halve pirouette and also at the end she had a small mistake. Still Rockx performed a wonderful test, Febe van Zwambagt followed her in third place.

In the saddle of FS Las Vegas van Zwambagt scored a totaal of 69,706%. The top five colored complete Belgian with Laura Luytenmet J2L Lamborghini (68,529%) at the fourth place Marieke Van Nespen with Giorgio Armani (68,235%) at the fifth place.

Hafuba meubelen Young riders prijs voor Semmieke Rothenberger

In de laatste rubriek op het CDI Lier hield Semmieke Rothenberger de concurrentie achter zich. De Duitse amazone werd door de Belgische jury Jacques van Daele en Franse Isabelle Judet als eerste geplaatst. Rothenberger liet de Nederlandse Thalia Rockx achter zich.

Rothenberger begon imponerende en zette dit door in de rest van de proef. De schouder-in werd krachtig uitgevoerd, over de gehele lijn een sterk optreden dat beloond werd met 73,333%. Met ruim verschil volgde de Nederlandse Thalia Rockx op de tweede plaats met Gerda Nova. Ook Rockx haalde de grens van 70 procent (70,735%).  De combinatie liet enkel een steek vallen in de halve pirouette en ook op het einde ging het even mis. Alsnog presteerde Rockx een prachtige proef en bleef zo landgenote Febe van Zwambagt voor.

Op de rug van FS Las Vegas verzamelde van Zwambagt een score totaal van 69,706%. De top vijf kleurde verder volledig Belgisch met Laura Luytenmet J2L Lamborghini (68,529%) op vier en Marieke Van Nespen met Giorgio Armani (68,235%) op vijf.

Micky Schelstraete wins Den Brabander Juniors team competition

The Dutch Micky Schelstraete started with the juniors today. Year after year she has been in the spotlights. Today Schelstraete took victory in the juniors competition with her horse Grand-Charmeur. The Belgium jury Jacques Van Daele and the Dutchse Jaenette Wolfs put Schelstraete in first place.

Although the half pirouette was a little bit less, the combination excelled in the canter and overall a very steady test. The performance was rewarded with a total score of 71,616% which gave a close lead to the German Lucie-Anouk Baumguertel with Zinq Sweetheart FH.

Baumguertel impressed Jo Graham with an almost perfect the collected walk and half pirouette left. The combination received a total score of 71,212%.
